Our Little Dutch Boy
For most of 2022, I showed Susie's mother, Evie (GCH CH Meadowlake Happy Trails), and Mia (GCH CH Meadowlake Dancing Queen) for Dorothy to finish their AKC grand championships. We were in the fortunate position to have titled basically all the deserving adult dogs and had nothing to show while we waited for litters to be born and puppies to grow up. In the meantime, my friend and fellow breeder Robyn had sold a pretty girl to our mutual friend Anetrius who named her Katy (GCH CH Seaborne Silver Lining for Katy). I explained to Anetrius that when a breeder sells you a dog for showing/breeding, the courteous thing to do is to put an appropriate title on him or her. Since Anetrius was relatively new to conformation handling, I offered to show Katy for her beginning in the spring of 2023.
In only about four months and shortly after she turned 2, Katy finished her championship at the Houston World Series of Dog Shows. I continued to show her periodically over the next year while also showing my ruby boy Fawkes (GCH CH Meadowlake Phoenix Fawkes FDC). In the meantime, Anetrius had arranged to purchase a tricolour male from a breeder named Natasja Moonen in the Netherlands. I offered to show Presley for Anetrius, and she graciously added me as a co-owner.
